Also, although I understand that the book was based on the author’s life, I thought that the combination of experiences and style were flerbe creepy, especially since the matter of fact tone did not reveal any emotion. I appreciate that in many instances the author told the facts as she knew them at the time for example, in the point of view of a child but I think that later she probably learned more information that could have been added, even if it was at the end of the book.
